Geosynthetics like membranes are commonly used for canal linings. In comparison to conventional lining options geosynthetic liners offer several benefits. However, the conventional methods also provide advantages, for example the UV resistance of concrete. As a consequence the combination of the conventional with the geosynthetic solution allows for creation of a superior system.

The presentation will illustrate and explain two systems, where geosynthetics synergize with in-situ applied concrete.
